These photoresistors are great for detecting light, and can be used to check if objects are placed ontop of opaque surfaces, detecting shade, and other variations in lighting.
To use these with Arduino, connect these with a resistor in series between 5V and GND. Then place a wire between where the resistor and photoresistor connect to an Arduino Analog/Digital input pin.
